So comes the end of the first phase of my travel adventure.
I am returning to the United States to rest and recuperate (I know, from what? Drinking wine and eating crossiants?) for a few weeks.
The last month has been amazing.
I have gotten to spend time with my daughter as she begins her own adventures (cue the eye roll).
I have seen areas of the world I had only read about or just seen in pictures.
I have met remarkable new people who have inspired me (and helped with my laundry).
I have learned to navigate places without knowing the language, customs, or sometimes currency of the country (meaning I am often lost and dependent on the kindness of strangers).
I have tested the patience of many cultures and nationalities (“We saved you from the Germans” is apparently beginning to wear thin).
I will next travel to Portugal at the beginning of September to begin walking the pilgrimage trail known as the Camino de Santiago (Camino Portugues – The Portuguese Way).
It is approximately 256 kilometers or 2 weeks of hiking (Keep in mind the entire journey can be covered in about 4 hours by bus, but nope, I’m walking it).
I will pick up the blog where I left off. You are welcome to continue to follow along or de-friend me (Is “de-friend” a verb?). I will continue to drink wine irregardless of your interest.
Have a great August.
Tootles til next time.
