Alas, I have come to the end of my wandering.
It has been a truly wonderful 12 months, and I end where I began. . . with my daughter, ACE.
We started this journey together in July last year, beginning in London. We ended in June this year in Dublin.
ACE and I traveled together for a month last summer, and then she went back to college, and I kept on going. We met again overseas this June as she is studying in Ireland, and I was getting ready to fly back home. It was great to begin and end my journey with her.
Thank you all who are reading this blog for traveling with me as well. I had high optimism that I would become a professional traveler blogger by the end of this passage. I don’t think so, as I found that writing consistently was much harder than it looked.
This journey taught me a lot about myself, like resilience, patience and being open for whatever. I also learned about the highs and lows of extended travel, cheap hostels, solo travel, top bunks, good wine, packing light, exchange rates, the importance of learning a least some words of other languages, that Americans are ridiculous tippers, and the joy of an American breakfast.
I have to go back to the grindstone of work and chores now, but I will return to the road again soon.
In the meantime, stay well and tuned.
