There is something to be said about being surrounded by heavily-armed:
Soldiers
Police
Bus Drivers
Rabbis
Kindergarten Teachers
Sanitization Workers
Food Delivery Guys on Scooters, etc
I have to say it was actually quite reassuring knowing that if anything went “bad” while I was here. . .
I didn’t have to wait for the law enforcement to respond because. . .
EVERYBODY around me is going to respond. Pronto!
“Open carry of a handgun” definitely sends a message.
“Open-carry of an automatic weapon” screams that message from loud speakers.
The message is “You want some of this?!”
After a while, you stop noticing the guns strapped across backs or dangling from waists.
I am not sure that is a good thing or a bad thing, but it certainly made me feel safer.
It does make you wonder how bad it was that it got to a point that the Government decided that it made sense to allow or even encourage open carry of machine guns. 🤔
